Magna Carta & the English Bill of Rights
What are four important rights that Americans inherited from the English? Be sure to name the rights, and explain in your own words how they protect citizens.
p2 Madeline & Michael -trial by jury -habeas corpous (your telling the judge to either free your body or charge you with a crime -representation -self-incrimination-everything you say can be used against you
P4 Ariana and Marcos One of the rights was self Incrimination,which meant your own words can't be against you in court, a right to a Fair Bail, which meant that they couldn't be charged so much money for bail, Trail By Jury, Habeas Corpus, and No torture.
P.4 Luis & Jaime 1. Habeas Corpus-charge a crime or release 2. no torture-cannot hurt someone 3. self-incrimination-own words cannot be used against you in court 4. trail by jury-peers decide if your guilty or not
P.4 Maribel & Jazmine 1. Trial by Jury-trial will decide if you are or not guilty 2. No torture -no cruel & unusual punishments 3. Self Incrimination-defend yourself 4. Bail-pay for your crime
p4nadiaandblanca 1. no torture-banned excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment. 2. bail-pay a fee and get set free and come back for a second trial 3. self incrimination-use your words against you 3. representation-vote for someone and if you dont like what they are doing vote for someone else.

"Trial by jury" People have the right to have a jury decide if they are guilty 2."Habeas Corpus" People can say habeas corpus to the udge so the judge can either chage the person or let them go 3."self incrimination" they can't use what you said against you 4."representation" people can vote for what they want

- they cant torture you in jail or make you say something that isn't true
