Everything was near by, the school,
the store, the library, the houses, and the railroad tracks. The store had medicine and food.

We recommend this video conference to other teachers and students because it helped us learn a part of history some people don't remember or don't even know about the town Allensworth

1. The place was established in 1908. There are different sections like the general store and the school.

2. We would recommend it because it is a good way to learn how people used to live back in the old times. It was an enjoyable experience.

One of the things we learned during the video conference is that Professor Paine was the 1st teacher in Allensworth & eventually became principal.

Allensworth wanted to be free, especially from racial violence and discrimination.
Yes, we would recommend this video conference to others because it informs us of the history there. And what better way to be informed than by someone who's experienced it,from a resident's point of view.

There were lots of things that i learned through the video conference that i didn't know before this. One of the most important things that i learned was that there were only three classrooms and that there were big kids mixed up with little kids and that the first school teacher/principal was named Professor Pain. Something else that i learned was that there were three churches.

I would recommend a video conference because although its kind of complicated to here each other its a very good experience to talk to rangers that know lots of stuff and you get to know more about how it is there right now and the similarities from right now to how it was back then.

Something new that I learned during the Video Conferance that I had not learned before was that Allensworth's mother suggested he buy a book && a comb. A comb to brush off all bad stuff/ideas from his head and a book to read.

I think it's more interesting to learn from someone that knows the history of the place.I learned
about the train that would pass and leave supplies for the town and it would also provide transportation.

1. I learned that the school had two classrooms. One for 1-5 graders ans the other for 6-8 graders. After the 8th grade the kids either worked or went to shool out of state.

2. I would like them to know that it was a good experience and that we learned about the history of Allensworth better talking to someone than reading about it in a book. I would recomend it because it was a fun experience and I will never forget it.

1. We learned that people that lived in that town were African Americans in search for a better life. They built schools, hospitals, churches, hotels, libraries, and general stores and of course Homes! It was a nice town to live in. We also learned that there were trains that would transport supplies to the town. Also after the students had finished the 8th grade they would either choose to work or hey would be lucky enough to be accepted into a school in another country/state.

2. We recommend it because it was a great learning experience for us and it might be a good learning experience for the other students too.

1. Some things I learned that I didn't know was that the people grew crops like beans, beets, corns and fruits and i learned that they brought supplies by train and that the people used trains for transportation and that Allensworth was born as a slave and his mother wanted him to learn how to read & write.
2.I would want the people to know that the experiance I had doing the video confrence is very good and cool and they should do this more often and they should do this to many schools and have many students to have the chance to do this
