How will a middle school classroom in 2015 be different than a classroom in 2008? How will technology help students learn?

It would be very different it would probably be that students get a labtop to do there homework and assignment on.I think it would help them learn alot and do lots of projects on computers.

The technology will be more futurictic and we will be able to learn more stuff about the world.

It will probably have more advances in technology and be easier to do assignments than today.technology will help students learn by providing more info on subjects.

Well the technology in 2015 will be a lot more advanced than ours.So I think it wouldn't help them.

A middle school classroom might be the same but they would probably have better technology than we do now.The technology would help students learn better by having them look information up on the internet.Their technology would probably look different but would still have the same programs.

i think that a lot of technology will change during 2008-2015. i think that students wont be using labtops anymore, but new kinds of technology. maybe different students wont even have to come to school and have a program at home that will teach them everything they need to know. i dont know but we'll find out. bye

Hi All,
I've enjoyed reading how you all think technology will change things in the future. I agree with Marilyn in that students will might be using something that looks entirely different than laptops look today, but will contain information that is relevant, updated and rich in variety, even more than we have now.
I think the shift will be from being taught to becoming passionate learners, seeking knowledge about subjects of interest. We then can take that knowledge learned and use it to create something that will help others learn. We do that now, but I think it will become more of a common practice in the future.

I don't think teachers will be replaced, but will change to become learners in the classroom with students, guiding and facilitating the learning through their own passion and love for learning.

Thanks for starting the conversation. I look forward to reading your thoughts on this.

Hello everyone,

As I started thinking about 2015, which is 7 years from now, I couldn't help but think about what we were doing 7 years ago. My 8th graders were first graders then, and the South Gate Middle School class of 2001 did not even have internet in the classroom, much less wireless. There were no mobile labs, we had 5 or 6 Mac PowerPC desktops. We didn't have PowerPoint, we used Hyperstudio, but my computers couldn't run fast enough to run Hyperstudio. We didn't have a digital projector, cameras (still or video), and we couldn't have imagined a Smartboard. I had never done a video conference. Wow!

So I think that there will be things in the 2015 classroom that we don't even know about yet. The only thing that I can be sure of is that reading, writing, and working together effectively will always be part of the classroom. Ideas and thinking are important.

So I think
