1.We think supplies was important because it tells us how many supplies were needed for only a family of four. It also tells us that to haul thousands pound of food you needed a wagon.
2.The emigrants were worried about a great deal about the native americans attacking them but very few of them were actually killed.
3.Mules would go faster than oxens. Mules were good for hauling. There more expensive to buy. New york people were constantly having trouble with their cattles.

1)One important thing we should know about the oregon trail was people were telling false statment to the people that 15-20 people have died of cholera no one really died that year.
2)In a journey like that people should have 200 lb of flour,150 lb of bacon,10 lb of coffee,20 lb of sugar, and 10 b of salt to survive.
3)emmigrants didnt used horses because the horses are not able to live off praire grasses along the way, and because the oxen didnt run of && they were cheaper than horses

The three most important things that students should know about Oregon trail was:

-food supply at least, 200 pounds of flour, 150 pounds of bacon; ten pounds of coffee; twenty pounds of sugar; and ten pounds of salt

-the best animal to bring was the ox because it was patient, thrifty, durable, gentle and does not run off it will also plunge through mud, swim over streams, dive into ,and he will eat almost anything

-a lot of people had to walk(2,000 miles) because their wasn't enough space for people ride in the wagons

-these three things were important because so they know what kind of food they had and brought,so they knew what animals were best to bring along, and the last one so they knew how much they had to walk

1. We think it's important for students to know how the emigrants camped. They were awake before sunup and the had luch for 1 hour at 6:00 pm. They would take oxes and mules instead of horses because horses could not live off prairie grasses along the way.
2. Next we think its important of what happened to the Indians like it was called the Grattan Massacre.A single cow left the group and an indian chief ate it and then the emigrant leader got mad so the indian offered a horse but he wouldnt accept it
so he told his men to take fire at the tribe.
3.Last we think its important to know the accidents that happened during the trip like when crossing the river if someone fell under the wagon they will die instantly.
We think these 3 things are important because these are the most interesting things that we read.

1)St.Louis was the starting point of the pioneers great journey.

2)Some pioneers took ships to Oregon,it took them a whole year, and the pioneers that were walking took them 4-6 months.

3)The buffalo herds would slow down the pioneers because the buffalo would have a stampede once i a while and the pioneers got lost and also could have been killed.

JUMPING Off
supplies were important because family would need clothes, food,to sustain them on the 2,000 miles journey to oregon and you need a wagon to carry your supplies. Oxen and mules were both important because oxen were use to pull the wagons.

THE ROUTE t0 WESt
The 0regon trail generally follows the plate river head waters and then crosses the waters. Ships continued to travel to oregon fter the overland migrations began, but they were not popular among the pioneers.

1. They didnt use horses because they couldnt live off prairle grasses along the way.Because the ox is the most noble animal, patient, thrifty, durable, gentle, and does not run fast.
2.Most emigrants loaded their wagons onto steamships and when they droped there things they called it jumping off.Because they had to wait until the grass grew so the ox could walk through there.
3.The first emigrants to Oregon came by ship before the trail was establioshed.Because thats how they first the emigrants went to Oregon.
4.In 1800 the americans west was still no cities,no railroads and no cattle.Because then after it all changed and there was everything like that.
They are the most important because they tell you how they traveled.

3.Wagons were used to carry the supplies
3.Oxen&Mules were both important because oxen were used to pull the wagons & so were the mules
4.Cholera was important because it made less people go into contaminated water when they found out about it.

-An emigrant should provide themselves with at least 200 pounds of flour, 150 pounds of bacon, 10 pounds of coffee, 20 pounds of sugar, and ten pounds of salt.
-When they saw the stampede pass their first reaction was to abandon their journey and rush of the buffalo not for food but for sport.
-When the trail would get crowded they would need fuel for the campfires on the they would use instead of trees to fuel their campfires was buffalo dung.

This is important to know how hard the pioneers worked to go to the west for a better life for themselves and their family.

1. People rejected horses because they couldnt live on the praire grasses.

1.Supplies they were important because family's would need clothes, food to subsatin them for the 200 mile journey to Organ
2.Wagons were important because they used them to carry their supplies and to carry small children.
3.oxen and mules were also very important because they carried the wagons full of supplies and the mules probably carried small childern on their backs.
4. cholera was important because it made less people go in to contaminated water when they found out about the disease .

1. Jumping Off: I think that the most important thing in this article was staying healthy. They would get congested by the bacteria that there was. Also the wagons they should have had enough wagons to carry people and the supplies. The supplies it was important to carry them cause if they didn't they wouldn't survive.

2. The Route West: The most important thing is that the first emigrants landed in St. Louis on a ship. Its important because people need to know how they first landed.

3. Power: The power was important because they wanted the oxen to take the wagons but they were slow and then they got mules cause they were faster, but the problem is that they were not that strong.

4. Hardships: When they were crossing the river they should of been more careful. Also cholera cause it was really bad. They died like really fast and it was not funny.

5. Camping: It was kind of important that they camped so they can rest. But then they got cholera so they were dying right there.

6. Buffalo:

1.(INTRODUCTION) IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHO WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE TO CROSS ON TO THE OREGON TRAIL.

2.(DISCOVERERS & EXPLORERS) IT IS IMORTANT TO KNOW HOW DIFFICALT THE EXPEDITION WAS.

3)(POWER)THEY COULD NOT USE HORSES BECAUSE HORSES CANT EAT THE PRAIRIE GRASSES,SO THEY WENT TO THE NEXT BEST THING MULES WHOM WERE FAST UNLIKE OXEN YET THE MOST STUBBORN RIDDIN ANIMAL.

emigrants head to st.louis to start their journey towards west. pioneers unloaded their wagons in small towns which was called jumping off.a few important supplies were 200 pounds of flour,150 pounds of bacon, ten pounds of coffee twenty pounds of sugar and ten pounds salt. pioneers didn't take steam boats because it was to expensive and not many pioneers lived near sea ports.

1)*the oregon trail was important to people because they had to travel to take items *another reason the oregon trail was important because they used animals to carry the stuff they couldnt hold.
*one of the most important animals they use to pull the wagon was the ox.
*another reason for the oregon trail was the supllies because it would tell you how much you would need for a family of four.

1.I think students should learn about supplies for example like food for the pioneers and thier animals becuase many people died on trail for not bringing the rite amount of food for thier animals and family.

2.I also think students should learn why the pioneers didnt bring horses and brought oxes instead the reasobn why they brought oxes instead was beacause they could live of prarie grass and they were cheaper then horses.

3.The last thing they should learn about was congestion because when it was time for the pioneers to leave everyone would try to get a headstart and a huge traffic jam would cont

The 3 most important things is that
-the first emmigrants to Oregon came by ship.
-Ships continued to travel after the overlandrmigrants began.
-Emmigrants used an oxen instead of horses because they were stronger they lived off grass and less expensive. the only problem was that they were slow.

2. Wagons because they were the form of portable storage for the amount of things the people took.

3. Cholera was a great deal in that time and people should have known the symptoms or the cause of cholera.

What are the three most important things that students should know about the Oregon Trail? Why are those things important?

*This operation was expensive it is important because people sometimes think it was just to go with their stuff.

*That it was a risky operation because people didn't know what was out there

1.)Well i think people shoud know that allot of peole became emigrants and they would pack allot of their things to leave and they would pack allot of their things in their wagons so they would have to throw allot of their things and when they would betraveling their would be allot of people and traffic because they all wanted to leave at the same time.
