1)That no one should be a slave and that justice will always win.
2)I think reabing 2 is better because it has more details in it on how they worked.
3)It was better because he they have holidays to have fun, they work in good weather, and they work for nine hours.

1.Thomas Jefferson said that slavery is a very disrespectful thing to do other people who dont look the same.

2.Reading 3 is the one that gives more details on how the life was for a slave because it tells you everything they do and everything they eat.

3.One reason is that they have their Sabbaths and holidays and the second reason is they are protected by their master.

1. jefferson is saying that god doesn't want slavery.

2.quote number 2 because it xplanes that the slaves get up in the morning an it explanes what they have to do like make food an work in the field an wake up really early.

3. he says that the slaves have every thing they need food shelter an that the youngs dont work much. but he was only talking about the south

1. Thomas Jefferson said that slavery is a very bad thing because its a disrespectful thing.

2. We think #3 is a more accurate description because its a very good reason.

3. The two reasons are that the slaves they have there holidays and the second reason is that they have protection.

1.Thoms Jeffersons comments are between master and slave is perpeual exercise of the most unremitting desotism on the one part and degrading submissions on the other.

2.I think the third reding is more accurate because people would understand it more. The second reading has big words for example, the slaves arouse, and others. I think a 8th grader would understand it in the third reading.

3.The two reason's the author gives are. One, the chilren of the slaves dont have to work because of their age also saying they are the freest slaves in the south. 2, They have free time during the holiday and they dont have to wok.

1)What thomas Jefferson thought about slavery was that the god made us like this.

2)i think reading 3 is explaining more because it tells us about what time they start doing their things and indian meal and how they plant things.

3)That slavery is good for the slave and he must work hard and have no liberty and be happy that the slave is living and eating.

JUAN M. VERONICA R. P2 1. The business between whites and slaves are an exercise of the persistent ruler on one part, and respecting submission on the other and god is just and will bring justice to the country. 2. Reading 2 is more of an accurate description of a slaves life because slave had hard life's and the 3rd reading being a slave was more of a job than being a slave and in reading 2 they suffered how you think a slave would suffer.
3. The 2 reasons that slavery is good are that the children and aged dont work and they must work or starve

1.) That even though people can get away from a crime or something that isn't right justice will always come sooner or later.

2.)The second reading is more accurate ,since it is about the normal life they had before slavery even though it was the same thing they were free.

3.)That other people are more of a slave then the negro because they work harder for less money and they either work or starve to death.

#1- Thomas Jefferson thought slavery was bad and that God made us like this.

#2-The third reading is more expliaining about slaves lives .Because its explians how the slaves lived their liives for example this text is in the reading of paragraph 3 '
The laborers begin work at six o'clock in the morning, have an hour's rest at nine for breakfast, and many have finished their assigned task by two o'clock, all of them by three o'clock.'

1. That justice can not go on forever because there always has to be something wrong going on.
2. We think its the third reading because it has more detail like the time and what they ate plus when.
3. He's saying that there happy because they don't starve to death, they have clothing, and they have shelter. Also he's saying slave do little work and they are protected.
E.C: Their reasons are that they only do a little bit of things and they don't have to pay taxes like others. Also they have a place to live and things to eat.

2.It's the 3rd because it sounds more detailed and accurate.

3.He says that they are happy because they have most necesseties. He also says that sklaves do little work and they are protected.

1) We think that he is saying that god is giving people no freedom that people say that he treats people equal and that it is not happening to the slaves.

2) The third reading is the more accurate reading because it explains how the laborers work and what they eat and their timings and also slaves living in fear.

3) The reasons why slavery is good for the slave because they are the happiest and free people in the world.

EXTRA CREDIT: The slaves are better off then people who work in wagons because the slaves they usaually work for you almost until the whole day, they have no holidays, the slave has no liberty or rights.

1) I think it means that pretty soon slavery is going to come at an end because buisness is going to become slower and there is not going to be enough money so people are not going to buy slaves anymore so then slavery is going to come to an end.

2) I think reading number 2 is more accurate about slave life because it explains what do they do and how do they life and in reading 3 they just talk about workers and how they live.

3) It Says that slaves have the best life they have the most freedom and liberty. but at the same time they have a rough life because they are like being told what to do and it must be rough also because they dont have alot of freedom like the other people so life for them kinda sucks

2.The most accurate is reading 2 cause of the person her wrote it like sir charles lyell sounds like a slave owner and solomom northrup sounds like a slave also the text ''the laborers begin work.''

2)The second reading is the most accurate because it shows more details about the slavery and the third reading was not as accurate as the second reading.
3)The slave has to work less hoursand his master provides him food and clothing . and the master protects them from the law and gives them a place to live.

#1 Jefferson says that slavery is a good exercise for the the master and very embarrassed for the slaves. that god cannot do anything for the slaves or justice

#2 reading #3 is most accurate he describes what they eat the time they wake up and the time they go back to sleep.

#3 one reason is that the children enjoy they don't work they enjoy liberty .reason two the slaves work in good weather they have to work or starve.

1. Thomas Jefferson thought that slavery was unfair and bad, it was mean and humiliating to the slaves. He thought that God will punish the slave owners and the people that like slavery, because they were being unfair to the slaves. It would be fair if God were to punish and be mean to them, because they were mean to the slaves.

2. The second one is more accurate, because it says what the slaves do from when they wake up and when they go to sleep, and how sometimes they had to work late, even passing the time to eat. The third reading just says at what time the slaves begin working, what they were allowed to eat, and what they can sell for other things.

3. The author says that slavery is good, because meals are provided to the slaves by the slave owners. The free people have to provide their own things vital to living.

ec. The author says that slaves are better off than people working for wages because the free people work more strenuously, and they get paid little. For this reason they are more of a slave.

Jefferson is trying to say that the practice of slavery is never ending.

the third story is the most accurate story because he give more detail about what they are allowed to eat and do. it also gives you times and dates.

the first reason is that the author say slavery is good for because everything is giving them like home, clothe. the woman does nothing to work.

2) Reading three was more descriptive about slavery life since it told about how they would get whipped and when they had time to rest, what they were allowed to eat, and how their worked changed in the summer.

What Thomas Jefferson's quote means that he will believe that freedom will lways be in your right hand.
2. We believe that the 2nd reading is a more accurate life for slaves because the whites wanted the work done quicking. They often barely feed the slaves, or let them rest.
3. The author said that, "They enjoy liberty, because they ae oppressed neither by care nor labor." " The Negro slaves of the South are happiest, and, in the same sense, the freest people in the world."

2. I think the text by Soloman Northrup was more like the real situation of the slaves. "The hands are required to be in the cotton field.. they are not permitted to be a moment idle until it is too dark to see" This shows that they were real slaves because they had to work as much as they could.

3. He gives the reason that all the needs of the slaves are provided by their master no matter what. Another reason he gives is that the slaves are happy and protected by their masters, they have holidays.

2. Read the second and third readings. Which do you think is a more accurate description of slave life? Explain your answer with specific examples from the texts.
Well, i think the 2nd reading describes the most accurate "An hour before day light the horn is blown. Then the slaves arouse, prepare their breakfast, fill a gourd with water, in another deposit their dinner of cold bacon and corn cake, and hurry to the field again."
3. In the forth reading, the author says slavery is actually good for the slave. What are two reasons the author gives?
They enjoy liberty, because they are oppressed neither by care nor labor... The Negro men and stout boys work, on the average, in good weather, not more than nine hours a day....Besides they have their Sabbaths and holidays.

2.) I think that Reading two is most accurate beacuse it gives details about slaves and what their ife was like. " They do not dare to stop even at dinner time..." Ths showed that the slaves where to scared to stopp in fear that they would be whipped. They lived in fear and segragation.
